Soy Wax Flakes and Soy Wax Blends
Connie's Candles offers two types of soy wax. Soy waxes are known for cleaner burning and less sooting and smoking than paraffin waxes, when recommended guidelines are followed. To get the best results letting candles "cure" for a couple days before burning may be necessary.
GW444 soy wax flakes is a great one-pour type jar wax that sets up with a smooth finish with just a very slight crystalline look. (Certain fragrance oils/colors enhance the appearance of this texture) Soy wax flakes are easy to work with for measuring. We recommend using one size larger wick with soy waxes and choose fragrance oils that are marked soy compatible. Our fragrance oils will have "SOY" listed in the fragrance description. Please test burn to determine the wick size you prefer.
3022 soy/paraffin wax is a 70% soy/30% paraffin wax blend in a slab form. In our opinion, 3022 has the best cold and hot throw of any wax we carry. It is a softer and stickier wax than J50. Sets up very smooth and creamy. In our testing we also made candle tarts. The scent throw was unbelievable, lasting much longer and even lingering in the air all day after turning off our tart warmer. We poured tarts in a silicone mold. You will not be able to remove this wax from a more rigid mold. Also, choose one wick size larger and soy compatible fragrances.
